Crafty Mini Me

A view of Mini Me's summer handiwork.

Melon basket made for a quirky birthday, I really enjoyed doing this reed basket from the Tampa Bay Basketmakers Guild.

And continuing on the basket theme - one fiddly one made of fabric strips - a Terry Atkinson design.

First make the strips . . . then create a flat weave - it will be larger than the finished base . . .

then weave the sides (don't panic as it looks squishy!) and tuck/glue the ends!

Just about completed, Phew!  Check out the July Quirky Quilters blog to see pictures of our adventures.

fold-up bag, stuff in your pocket
for impulse buys!

Other small projects include keepsake pouches shown below (I did a bit of experimentation off an American Quilters magazine pattern), a crochet jellyfish (pattern courtesy of 1dogwoof.com), and several carrier bags.

Moving on to food, we took a pork pie making class and I have a lovely new sea turtle engraved water pitcher (made by Becky Harris-Cowley of Bex By-designfrom my quirky friends - I am most pleased!
