Visuals

This is one of our local Bayway Bridges lit for Ukraine.

Not much to report here - weather has been up and down humid hot summer, dry cool spring - windy with lots of rip currents, so swimmers and beach goers beware.

At last the beach traffic is moderating, but there are still lots of snowbirds about.

Oven cleaning is enough to make you not use your oven!

Here's a waterspout in the area on 15 April - that is a a whirling column of air and water mist. One did comeonshore recently near here and it is dangerous. A watersprout is a tornado over water - and onshore it becomes a tornado!

We witnessed a Marine Water Rescue at circa 11:30am on the 26th March. Appears a guy fell off his jet ski in roughish waters.

Digging commences as part of the groyne replacement project - the City is digging to find the groyne ends which are much further up the beach than anyone thought! Beach groynes are rigid structures built perpendicularly from an ocean shore [or a river bank], interrupting water flow and limiting the movement of sand/sediment. Ours are mainly made of concrete first put in place in the 1950s and now decaying badly (as well as ugly).

Groynes seem to work as we are the only beach around here not needing beach sand replenishment projects!

On Easter Sunday we were entertained by this extra wide paddleboard with 'sofa' attached.  Apparently he picked up the e-board riders when they tired.

Just when mini me thought she had seen everything on the beach!!

A paddleboard with a 'sofa' ---->

and a pedal board (paddleboard with stairmaster) - wow!

Now how do you fancy this as a mix of quilting and basketry - perfect for mini me!

Not made by me, but won a prize at a recent basketry convention - what a challenge!

Doesn't this look like fun??  =======>
Such a shame we don't quilt like this anymore!

And finally how about this for a crochet afghan? From 'I Like Crochet' called
Dare to Dream Afghan - done as freeform crochet - who knew?
