Playing on the Beach

Doc Jon takes wonderful pictures around the beach - here are two recent stunners!

Dolphins love to play and we have seen on several occasions this fish flipping activity - a sheepshead in this case caught in this picture by Doc Jon. Hubby also got a picture the other day.

And then there is the famous 'green flash' also captured by Doc Jon.

The critters in the sea have been very frisky as you can see by the photos below where the dolphins are only a few feet offshore.  One couple waded in to the water calf height and got rushed by a dolphin - they jumped out of the water quick!  A hungry dolphin looking for fish hiding behind their legs caused the rush we think.

Sunday lunchtime (March 3) SOMETHING was leaping clear out of the water on the sandbank - too small for a dolphin, but the wrong shape for most fish -- a ray of some kind perhaps??? S/he sure was jumping!  And our flock/bunch/paddling or raft of ducks (take your pick of names for a group of ducks in water) are back swimming in sea water.
In January we were sightseeing manatees, and in February it was sea turtles at the annual Florida sea turtle conference.

?????? Not sure what this is all about . . . but an interesting craft.
